Default Slow worms

Does anyone know what the laws are involving these?

Will i get in trouble for capturing one of these and keeping it in a viv/tank?

Also does anyone have any ideas of requirements?

As far as I know they are only protected against deliberate killing

It's ilegal to sell one/

I think you can catch one and keep it. But why would you want to?

With ticks, the trouble of making sure it doesn't spread anything to the other rep's . . .

they are kinda boring looking

Personally im against wild caught animals anyway, so im sorry but even though i believe its legal to take them from the wild, its not the right thing to do unless its a rescue or for the animals benefit.

I think they are great little things,

I would rather not take one from the wild, I would prefer to buy a CB, but this seems pretty hard, and like u said its not easy to prove that they are captive bred.

Ill steer away from captuing any wild reptiles at the moment.

If anyone knows someone that has CB Slow worms available, it would be much appreciated!

And by the way Rosie, Im already buying you a corn, dont push your luck!

You can legally catch them to keep for yourself IF you have the permission of the land owner to do so.

You CANNOT legally sell wild slow worms. Proving that any babies you have born are in fact captive bred may be difficult if not impossible; apparently some people are being told that self-certification of having captive bred animals is insufficient... and many people claiming to sell CB animals are in fact catching wild ones to order.

As for the animals having parasites, as long as you keep them in a separate quarantine enclosure away from your other animals and observe hygiene procedures you should be fine.
