Default Gravid Ig

I found out on wednesday with an x-ray that our iguana is gravid. Shes going mad digging and trying to find somewhere to lay. I've made up 2 nesting boxes. 1 of which is in her viv the other is on our landing as she spends alot of time up there lately.
So how long before she lays do u reckon? shes been only pickin at her food for the last month and completely off it for about a week now.

How deep are the nesting boxes? If she is digging now she should be laying pretty soon. They usually try and find a good nesting spot about 1-2 weeks before laying.

the boxes are 50 litre toy/storage boxes so about a foot deep. Fingers crossed that she'll lay soon so i can get a good nites sleep! I'm worrying more about her than when I was pregnant and due!!

Good idea to bear in mind Nai that she will be more aggressive now,
The eggs can be deposited in one clutch or laid over a period of around 7-14 days. Our female produced 40 in December and most of them were laid on her basking shelf and just kind of rolled away !! Ours showed little interest in food until she had finished laying.
They do sound as if they should arrive very soon, dont worry too much, regular misting to keep her hydrated (keep offering food even if it is rejected)
and keep a note of which dates she lays and how many. She should manage fine by herself and if you notice any deterioration in her condition and suspect she may have a retained egg your chart will be handy for the vet.
It is fascinating to watch so try to enjoy it! She will need lots of feeding up and cuddles when she is all done.
Am assuming the eggs are not fertile, as if they are thats a whole other dilemma.
Good luck

Polly is off food for a week before laying, and often takes a full week to get all the eggs out.
She'll be ravenous when they're all out though, so get the stocks in ready!

Mines the same, she's going through the not eating phase now, and is becoming restless. Last season she dropped 35 eggs over a week or so, and not a single one in the lovely huge laying box I gave her
