Default Beardie eye infection / ear wax?

Hi guys.

Took sid out for a while today as he seems to have fully settled in and i noticed he keeps closing one eye he'll sometimes close the other but he'll close one quite often i took a look and couldn't see any discoloration of the eye, any swelling on or around the eye nothing visibly wrong.

I know his tail is very grey compared to the rest of him which i was told he was shedding and thats why so do you think his eye area could be shedding too and that is whats causing it?

Also in the same ear as his shut eye he has an orangey substance in his ear part looks almost like wax very strange as the other side is totally clear.

The place i got him from told me to use a toothbrush on him to get rid of the shedded skin which i've since found out to be really not good for him but do you think his skin could be staying around because its used to being brushed off so he's not working on scratching it off?

Does he just close the eye facing you? Beardies sometimes have a bit of a "if I can't see you, you're not there" mentality when they aren't interested in you / whatever you're holding for them. It is possible for them to get a bit of skin in their eyes following a shed, but it's usually accompanied by all manner of eye gunk as well and becomes quite crusty - it's pretty obvious!

If you're concerned and it's like that in a couple of days, get him checked by a vet. It's good practise to get new arrivals checked anyway, and a vet should be able to either put your mind at ease over what's causing it, or prescribe treatment if some is necessary.

It's hard for people to give you reasons / ideas over the internet without actually seeing the beardie for themselves.

Yeah its always the one thats facing me. And as i turned him round he'd move his head as well so it was very difficult to see the other side.

Any clue about the stuff in his ear hole bit?

Looks EXACTLY like wax but i'm not sure.
