well i got my juvi white throat monitor (dont know age) today after alot of searching for a well respected shop that sells them i got him from "the reptile rooms" in blackpool now i carnt rate that shop enough its a really really good shop and i will definatly be going there for my next rep all in all it was around a 80-90 mile round trip but it was worth it anyway here we go ...

im alittle confused about something though... its called a "white throat/cape) monitor but it has a black throat :S ?

its deffiantly a white throat black throats are alot darker than that
there is two types of whitethroats one is very pale and the other is a bit darker on the throat it all depends on which part of africa they come from
its the same with the eventual size one will max out at about 4.5ft the other could grow to 7ft but i couldnt tell you which one grows the largest im sorry

u cant knock the reptile rooms for service and good staff ,make is a great guy to deal with and allways willing to help ,its my local rep shop only just down the road from me and they buy my mantids to sell as well so bonus

white throats and blackthroats are not easily indistinguishable, from a pic yo would not be able to tell.

yes it does depend on geographical location but that is not specific enough and i wouldnt quote 'max out' on either species as 6ft is the average for both

p.s looks white throat to me, nice albig anyway - beautiful

so how do you tell then ? i would say its deffiantly a white throat it looks a lot lighter than the blackthroat i owned a few years ago my albig was alot darker on the top of her neck aswell as the throat compared to that one

you say it looks like a whitethroat too your only going from a pic aswell arent you?
