Default 2nd lizard

After having my beardie for quite some time now, I've been thinking what my second lizard should be? First thoughts are either a crestie or a yemens cham. I don't understand though, cresties seem pretty, fairly tough and relatively easy to keep but seem to cost a bomb, are they absolute buggers to breed or something? Currently I'm leaning towards a cham, but could anyone recommend any other lizards that might be worth investigating? I would really really love a red tegu, but unfortunately I don't have the space for anything bigger than a cham sized viv.
Thanks

ure obv not bothered about live feeding then..i think gecko's could be a rewarding lizard and i love the thought of a tegu too same prob tho lol.. i think cresties are really nice and if you want one im sure u'll find a breeder on here that isnt pricing them so highly.. myself im looking for a chuckwalla.. my type of lizard, no live feeding lol thats why i also like uromastyx, plus they can be quite tame in most species

imho cams can be quite hard to get right but they are very rewarding tho... they are stressed easly and most dont light being handled to do it properly you will need afew £££ mesh viv, misting systems ect but its your choise...

I'd personally go for a Crestie...you can buy juveniles from private breeders for about £40/£50.

Crestie's dont need a basking spot, heat mat (unless your house is really cold) and can live without a UV light, although we keep ours under UV.

Like people have said Chams are abit harder to keep but if you do enough research and have the right set up for it, i can't see there being a problem.

Wow, £40/£50. I keep looking at the classifieds on here and the only crestie I recall seeing for a long time is a really pretty one thats £150. Haven't seen any younglings advertised for a long time though, is it not breeding season or something or are there just none to be had?

There's not many babies about yet this year. Most people will have eggs still or young hatchlings.

I sell my juveniles for about £50, when they get abit older and able to be sexed people ask for abit more. Girls are in high demand just now so it may have been have been a female you seen or just a really pretty boy.

Cool, thought they were somewhat conspicuous through absence on the classifieds. Yeah that is a girl that was being advertised. Guess I shall just have to wait a bit then, at least it will give me plenty of time to do my research anyway.

Research is always good. I'm sure there will be a few coming up in the classifieds in the next few months.

Gives you time to get their house ready.

While I think on, I knew they ate a lot but wasn't entirely prepared for how much of a remorseless eating machine baby beardies can be. Are young cresties expensive to feed? If they aren't, that might be the final thing to tip me towards a crestie rather than a cham

The eat nowhere near as much as baby beardies. One tub of CGD will last you ages if your only feeding one. A little blob of that and a few small crix every other night will be plently.

They've just got lil tummies.
