she could be trying to loosen some shed around her beard, they usually do this when coming up to shedding their head

That explains why ours was this morning hes just been shedding his head and beard, he wasnt black at all and before this he was doing it too. I think its something both sexes do but the males is very black and they head bob in mating times

Ah I see, It may be because she is shedding some of her spikes around her head then Another thing while on the subject she has been shedding but really slowly and little bit's at a time. Is this normal?

if you mean like one leg one day then about a week later another leg and so on the yeah its normal they do it in their own time

Bathing the beardies in luke warm water aids in the shedding process....

They shed in parts not everything at once, like luke said, one leg at a time, but then again i dont actualy think it matters what sex the beardie is, it only matters if your planning on breeding them.

had 2 reply 2 this 1!! i inherited a so called male from my friends 17 yr old son who had gone off it after a few weeks. not really knowing much bout them i looked up every thing i cud,books web etc.know a bit late but there it is.i took it 2 local reptile shop told defo male.bought a female sum months down the line with int 2 breed. 6 months l8r both laid eggs within weeks of each other!k im so not an expert but even supposed experts dont always know. n im so not 17 lol now have defo male!!!!!!!!!1

after looking at your post from yesterday id say your beardies a 100% female,
the beard thing is ok as my females do it to lol, i know there females as they have laid eggs lol.
also with the shed thing sometimes it can take upto a month for them to shed properly. i rescued a male german giant the other day and he's got shed on him that looks like it's been there for ages, so i put some olive oil on him then bathed him, it worked a treat.
