Default Eggs!!

Hey

Well today we woke up to two healthy looking leo eggs from our high yellow female...woohoo

We have now transfered them into an incubator that has perfect temp and humidity but the vermiculite the eggs are in is a lot cooler than the 86f of the incubator

Is this ok?

Do you have a digital thermometer taking the temps of the eggs, Get the probe as close as possible. See if the temps are ok, if not.. bump the stat up a bit

My probe is just measuring the air temp, not the vermiculite

Is this wrong?

Is the probe near the tub with the eggs in? My eggs are all in seperate clutch tubs, which are sealed with a few tiny air holes so I put the probe close to a tub and measure that then up the temp a bit so that the inside is as near to correct as possible.
With species like Leo's you don't have to get the temp spot on, as the range is quite big as they are sex determined by temp so aslong as it's "about" it should be fine. It's big fluctuations that will cause a problem, so try not to worry too much
