It appears to be aimed at sunbathers, measuring cumulative UVA and UVB exposure over a period of time rather than actual output levels.
Considering that even a cheap meter of the correct type costs around £100, I very much doubt a £15 one will be any good. If anyone can confirm that they are OK though I'll be the first to buy one!

IM gunan check with the head office monday...
my mate who works with these sorts of things said a definate NO .. but he said he will ask at university too... basically the one that wil give u the proper readings are about 100 quid... upwards.. were gettng one soon as were trialing various UVs for our animals.. we have been recomemned arcadia new D3 TUBES at 12% for our beardies.. as they have trilaed with 6 tubes lasting between 12 and 20 months so far.. far betetr than any other tube on market... the readings were taken by a metre costing 350 quid ![]()
