It's a sign your beardie isn't used to being handled. Over time he should calm down with that.
It is normal. My male, i've had for over a year now constantly does it. Even though i handle him on a regular. I think i just ended up with a grumpy one. So yeah. Don't worry, keep handling and try hand feeding some greens. Hopefully over time yours will calm down Btw. have moved this to the Lizard help section.
