Here is a plan for you if you are having real issues, get a cricket tub, clean it out and have both tub and lid ready (preferably one in each hand) now when you go to get your anole, open your cage and go for an anole that is on a flat surface, best place is ideally the glass of the walls... Move the tub slowly straight towards the anole with no jerky movements, and place it over the top, now gently with the other hand slide the lid against the glass under the lip of the tub and wait for the anole to jump off the glass and into the tub proper, all you have to do then is slide the lid the rest of the way on making sure not to cage tails and toes!

I agree with Lex. Go for the tricky spider technique. It's not easy in a heavily planted viv.
