Hi kelly just the way you worded it gave the wrong impression,
I agree about all having there own personalities and thats just another thing that makes them more interesting,

I must admit i have had 32 young hatched and never had a agressive one out of them all although the longest i have kept any before selling was 8/10 weeks old,i also let them have free time out of the vivs for a couple of hours a day most days,

The thing is aswell it cant be very nice being packed away and then all the travelling to get to this country,But still there is them that are just pure friendly from the off.

Luckily for me one of my collareds will climb all over me then wander off for a scout about and have a good noisy about then return quite happily into her viv herself when she wants to bask.

I also heard they are stopping taking westerns from the wild dunno if thats true for certain or just hearsay, maybe you no more about it ?

To the original poster sorry for taking over the thread and if you can at all get a larger viv then it will be well worth it owning some collareds of your own, especaily a small group as watching there behaviour is great.

WHAT?? I sincerely hope thats not true, tho I just ordered a group of females to put with the male I just bought. I'll ask Will Wells and see what he says, I'll let you know.

Sorry I had a really bad day yesterday, one of those where things just CANT get any worse. But I do agree with you for the most part, I just dont see that wild collareds are so different from CB's where it comes to handling, you just got to know how.

The big difference between WC's and CB's is really in their health and their ability or inability to adjust to life in captivity

I heard it from a fellow keeper of collareds and he said it came from a shop,a reputable shop at that,(although dont like mentioning names),

Hope things get better for you,i no what its like recently as the wife been in and out of hospital and trying to care for my reptiles/kids and visit hospital along with taking care of all the pets was hard work,
managed to keep on top of it all but feeling the backlash now with lack of sleep lol.Was going to have a sleep in this morning and the postman woke me up at 7 so bang goes that idea .

still i have some collareds going today so i have had some quality time with them this morning and going back out there after this post to do my chores and have some more quality time.

Look forward to seeing any pics from the original poster in the future,i never tire of seeing collared pics.

edit ps just read the last line of your post again kellybee and couldnt agree more about the ability for them to adjust to captive life, and the state of most of the wc collareds i have seen is bad, even the cb usa ones are well undersize and weight compared to the ones i have hatched.(seen some cb usa ones when supplied some of my own to the same place although they did look healthy just not as chunky and alot smaller for there apaprent age).
