Default Anyone elses beardy starting brumating?

Dobby has started refusing to eat again (happened this exact time this year when he was tiny). He spends most of the day in one place and tries to sleep alot of the time.

He is in my reptile room which is always warm (min 72f) and his viv temps haven't changed, still as much as 110 at the warm end and 80 cool... if anything it's warmer now than in the summer as he was in the main part of the house so didnt benefit from 24hr heating, and there were some mild/cold nights.

I know some beardies will brumate whatever you try and dobby is one of them.

Just wondered if anyone else had started noticing the cool down. Also any advice on getting him to digest anything he has eaten without simply stopping offering any food at would be great.

Cheers

Mine is dead to the world - has been for a week or so. Fortunately, she decided to do it the day before I ordered lots of crickets, that could have been annoying. Just hope that she doesn't wake up the Sunday before Christmas like last year

Glad it's not just mine! Unfortunately I had just bought some locusts as he was eating fine last week... he's just decided they are better as friends than food and they lie together lazily most of the day! Lol. Suppose its cute. Maybe I should get a pic!?

What have you done regarding temps? You keeping them warm or cooling?

Well she is tucked up in the cool end and is underneath her log thingy so I haven't really fiddled with the temps as it's around about 75-80oF under there

aye mines has been brumating for just over a week now, tried to up his temps slightly to keep him with us but he wasnt having it, we have him on rabbit bedding(which is really good and really cheap) and he's dug his way under and is just chilling, fortunately we didnt go and buy food, so its all good.

how long is advised for him to do this? its the first time he's done it with us and it was unexpected

People quote all sorts, in my experience it may be a case of as long as they want as any temp changes, feeding efforts etc wont change a stubborn dragons mind. Last year it was oct through to about march till dobby was back to normal. Just make sure you ensure your beardie is well hydrated throughout and isnt allowed to sleep with food in his/her belly which isnt digested.
