chameleons hate the sight of each other and can get easily stressed just by seeing another one in the same room..........

The cost depends on the type of chameleone. Panthers are far more expensive compared to Yemens, for example you can pick up a baby yemen for around £40 + whilst panthers you talking from £100 upwards depending on the local.

Which advert is that?

If you have no experience with chams then perhaps you should think about geting a cham that would be more hardy and forgiving such as a yemen as some have specific care requirements and are not so forgiving if you were to make mistakes.

Yeah.... I agree. Even the yemens are quite hard to keep and get stressed out really easily. Mines a pain in the butt. So So moody!!!!!

Yemens/veiled and jacksons are usually about $75-$100 while panthers can easily range around $150-$300 or more if they are cross bred. Pygmys or carpet chameleons can be anywhere around $10-$45 while more exotics like gravid ankaramys and parsons can be well over a grand.

Jackons seem to be more docile than others. Alot of people seem to think that panthers have the worst personalities but I've had no trouble at all with mine. In fact, it's definitely the yemens that want to draw blood :P

Chameleons are quite hard to keep compared to other lizards - they get stressed extremely easily can deteriorate quickly too.

Yemen are probably the easiest to keep and they are fairly easy to get from most places now, its not recommended that more than one is kept in an enclosure as they stress each other out and stuff.

Babies are usually kept together without probs but as soon as they begin to mature they may fight, stress and its just really not worth the risk in my opinion.

Saying that, like many things some people keep more than one in an enclosure with no probs.

I would not keep any 2 chameleons together. I paid £25 for my yemen from a breeder on this forum, found the ad in the classifieds section. Panthers ive seen for £120 and ive seen a tanzanian side striped chameleon for £150. what tv advert was it?
