Default calci sand that dissolves in water?????

Please can someone tell me if there is such a thing????

No there isnt

Calcium solidifies, hence why you get chalk

thank you hun i did think that it was a load of just that i saw a ad on preloved an a woman had her baby beardies on calci sand, i emailed her showing my concern for the wee ones an all i got back was a load of abuse telling me that if i knew anything about beardies i would know that there is a "special" calci sand that dissolves in water!!!!!!

Just thought i would ask the proper knowledgeable people on here just to confirm my thoughts. Theres just no helping some people

ahh that special calci sand the one that comes from the emerald city next to the munchkins lol some ppl think they know everything and theres no telling them otherwise

yes there is such a thing as calci sand but its not recommended by many to use it especially for babies

yes calci sand is real - comes in lots of diff colours so many people buy it because it looks nice - its not recommended really though because it encourages the lizards to eat the sand which could cause impaction.

Guys, there is a very large company called Underworld, who have launched a new reptile supplies range called "Komodo"

They are bringing out a new line of sand, we talked to the rep a few weeks ago and expressed concern about the calci sand products. She was very friendly and said they knew that medically calci sand could prove hazardous for some species, and that their new range would be fully dissolvable in water, meaning any that was eaten, would dissolve and could never cause impaction.

We haven't researched this or tested this product but hope to, and will only stock it if it is true.

If they are marketting this then it is certainly scientifically and economically viable and there is nothing to say that it is not already available in some countries or that other brands have not brought out something similar.

Really, well thats interesting will keep my eyes open for that pobably wont bother using it though as mine seem fine on normal sand
