yeah a pic would be good. the only prob with play sand is the risk of impaction is high with leos

To combat that, i feed them on a plastic tray. I think theres chance of compaction on anything isnt there?! Im up for a suggestion though for a better substrate!!

yeah any loose substrate there is a chance of impaction thats why we dont use a loose one. alot of ppl use real slate kitchen floor tiles and they look amazing. also there is a clay substrate out there which is as near to their natural substrate as u can get but it is a bit pricy

Do you just cut the tile to size then?! How does the mat heat get through?! And doesnt the join in the tiles look silly?!

yeah u just cut them to size. thing is with the slate bein natural and bumpy u dont really notice the joins but i know some ppl put sand in the joins

thats even better. the stone effect ones you can get would look amazing we have been looking at it actually cos we have another couple of vivs to do for our baby leos
