I'm looking into getting a different kind of lizard than a leo, something that has similar care requirements though... e.g nocturnal and insectivorous

Any ideas?

Want to get some ideas first so I can do some research before I look into buying one.

Can be bigger than a leo but must be able to live happily as an adult in nothing bigger than a 4x2x2 viv

For nocturnal I would imagine your best bet is to think geckos, so pictus geckos might be worth looking into? African fat tailed geckos?

African fat tailed geckos are very similar, need a bit more humidity.

the list is endless..fat tails, tokays, frg eyes, white spots....

underwoodisaurus milli are quality and fat tails are the nuts especially the suer stried tangerines and they always seem realy tame there much more laid bk then leos

Regarding tameness, must be able to be handled lol so no tokays

and has to be a terrestrial species too not arboreal.

I've been looking into fat tails thanks but was hoping to go for something outside the gecko area
