Default Golden geckos

Hi, maybe I was biased from past experience but I have taken on a lonely male Golden gecko from reptile princess . was sold as "tame" which I took to mean that it wouldn't latch on to your thumb and not let go. But I have just spent the most amazing 1/2 hour with Mojo behaving as a crested, gently walking from hand to hand and not wanting to go back in the viv! I'm surprised as I view(ed) them as a small Tokay in temperament. Thoughts/ experiences anyone?

As far as I know they're not known for being fierce - mine wasn't - and they're really very attractive lizards with great little faces You're lucky that yours really is so friendly, sounds really lovely -mine would hide away most of the time!!

My general experience with them is that they are defensive. The vast majority are wild caught, and so this isn't shocking. They are very similar to Tokays in temperament in the wild, however you would expect natural variation between individuals in all species.

I was told that they were supposed to have the same temperment as a tokay, but have had no experience of this lol!
Although I wish mine was that tame! I cant even go near the cage without it hiding lol. I think he needs a mate
Have you heard him bark yet??
