Default Two questions about Cresties?

So I have had Scarlett for about a month now and he/she is all settled in nicely - eating regularly and taking the occasional hopper...Firstly, what is the best way to get it off eating baby food (I didn't want to go straight for trying it until it was settled), is mixing in a little bit of CGD the best way?

Also, with juveniles, have you ever experienced it getting to big for its boots and trying to do things that it cannot, like falling from the top of the tank? Mine just slipped off the glass about 3/4of the way up, landed feet first and ran for the nearest cover

i dont know if this will help getting it off baby food or not , but after i mix the cgd in what ever tub i use i put it in the sink and run hot water over the tub so it heats the cgd up . the extra heat in it makes it smell more so the geckos notice it

yes, just gradually up the amount of CGD and decrease the amount of baby food in the mixture

i prefer to use watery fruits..

nutritionally watery fruit is not of much value BUT

it smelles far nicer and attracts them to the CGD I find better that plain water..

a few of my adults were fed on babyfood before they came to me..

i transferred them slowly over onto a fruit much mix usually of mangoes, melon and banana.. mixed with CGD

art gecko recently advised me the ratio when mixed with fruit and not watr should possibly be higher than 1.2

more powder less fruit.. im looking into that at the momet

do you mean climbing up the glass inside and falling off? It might be a humidity issue, their feet can lose 'stickyness' is the humidity is too low. do you have a hygrometer in the viv? have you checked there is no retained shed on the feet?

Yeah, slipping of the glass. The humidity is between 60-80% and he has yet to shed since I had him, think he just had a clumsy moment when trying to get on the roof

Mine was like one of those sticky things you used to throw at the wall when you were a kid that would 'roll' down

Looking in now, he seems fine
