years ago i had a hot spot area set up, and my Igs would go and chill there (well bask, but chill out)
yeah my lounge has plenty of places plus it doesnt help my floor is laminated so is very cold!

i was thinking of having a hot spot in the lounge so they can hang out when im home!

Great idea!! I don't think I'd need a hot-spot for this house tho', I'm like a hot-house plant!! Drax seems to love roaming, I do worry he'll climb right up the chimney tho' - I need some way of blocking it off!! Thanks for the advice everyone, my OH worried more than me tbh, after 10 minutes he'd decide that was long enough as he might get too cold. So, this backs up my argument - ta!

if they get cold, it doesnt kill them instantly...there reptiles (one of our special morph BD cames from Denmark) and i have driven reps to berlin a 1000 miles away taking 18 hours or more...sat on the back seat in a crix box

you could have a nice corner feature in the room, pebbles, rocks etc with a spot light and a big plastic plant...

can i move it????

yeah, a corner with say a piece of wood, metre sq, with a lip....

pebbles that cant fall on the floor cos of the lip

hot rock by a spot light pointing down.

and 1 or 2 of those huge realistic plants you can buy

only trouble is, no uv....but if its not all day, every day then not a problem.

out of draughts and cold etc would be fine, so when you let it out....like normal, it should have somwhere it can goto to get hot again and then run around again etc..even if just a hour a day good exercise.

i had done that for years with Iguanas, until a ig room

i can keep my beardie out for hours, she likes running round and also like to just sit on me looking around, sometimes if i think she is gettin cold i sit with her infront of the fire and she basks with her mouth open hehe. really depends on the beardie. if yours starts to go dark, and loom miserable them put him back, but generally i think beardies like being out, and they absorb a lot of hea from out bodies, this morning i was watch tv with my beardie and all of a sudden she opened her mouth and was just sittin basking on my chest lol, so we must give them quite a lot of heat.

The babies I let out for 30 mins at the most, where as the adult comes out until she is ready and then she heads back herself

I like the sound of the reptile corner!!!! His own little hang out lol all he will need is a line of passing females to entertain him and he will be sorted!!! lol - as others said though - otherwise I think they will let you know when they want to go back -- mine tend to head towards their vivs whent hey want to go back - although my 7 week old doesnt come out at all at the mo - hes too small and I'm afraid of loosing him lol
