Shall ask, for the basking spot, what do you use? Like for the animal to bask on?

As said it does look like burns.

personally i think it could be burns or whatever..
it could be scale rot but wwe wont know for sure ontil the vet has checked it out..

sometimes retained sheds are the cause of scale rot..

just my opinion please dont quote me on that

Good luck and i hope it is fine
keep us posted

to me, it looks like some stuck shed on him, and the line is where its yolk sac hole has healed, most lizards have them...

Well like i said earlier we have only had him a day, his bulb was guarded at the shop but not here(he cant reach it tho. His basking spot at the shop and here is wood. he is on a dimmer stat here but a on-off stat at the shop.

Before anybody asks his temps are 112-118f basking, 90-95f hot end and 80-85f coolend.
He was also on sand in the shop and tiles here and he is in a 3x2ft viv.

looks like the vet cant fit us in today so looks like its gonna have to be tomorrow. From what i can find on the net it looks like scale rot(im no vet tho).

Has anybody got any pics of scale rot in lizards or any info on it as all i can find on the net really is for snakes.

Cheers Rich

get him to the vet asap and see what he says, not a lot we can do to help, all i will suggest is that looks like uric acid burns to meand if the vet cant fit you in today give it a clean with some iodine solution, dilute the iodine 1 part iodine, 3 parts water and gently clean the affected area only with a cotton bud dipped int he solution. had what looks the same on a painted agama and royal python that got dumped on me last year sometime. but it is very hard for anyone to tell without seeing it in the flesh.
Good luck and hope the lil guy is ok.

It was like this when we bought him and the shop has been fantastic saying they will either give us a refund or they will help with the vet bills.

i bought some tamodine(sp) last night but didnt wanna cause extra damage(this is the 1st rep with a problem like this). luckily ive managed to get an appointment tonight at 6.30 for the little fella, its classed as out of hours but will only cost an extra £5 so over all it will be £22.50.
It makes me sick now i know the price, that people say they cannot afford to take there reps to the vets. i know prices vary but come £30 to look after your loved ones isnt alot and you can always beg, borrow or steal to get that amount.

Hes looking better today, alot more alert and holding himself up better so that might have just been the stress of the new surroundings.

Thankyou everybody for your help and will keep everybody informed with how he's doing, just hope i dont have to inject him as i have a feeling im gonna be rubbish at it lol.
