Hello we bought a painted agama yesterday and put him stright into his viv as the car heater decided to pack up and it was quite cold. After he had time to warm up we gave him some locust which he ate(about 6) and he went for a poo this morning. We got him out this morning to check him over and underneath him he has a line of dark,hard,raised scales with a black dot in the middle.It also looks like it has had some form of fluid come from it aswell.There also seems to be the same kind of hard raised scales on his lumps aswell.


We have rang the vet and we cannot get to see one til tomorrow.

do you have a heatmat in the viv? does it have a thermostat? look like burn marks to me.

I'm not 100% but it looks like either retained shed or a burn, possibly both.

only had him one night really but no heat mat here or at the shop just basking spot and stat and uv.

it was at the shop but is not here but it is too high for him to get too. i highly doubt it could be a burn from a light bulb aswell because its a perfectly straight line

Could he have sat in his poo? I'd try giving him a shallow warm (not hot!) bath and wipe it with a cotton bud to see if it's removable.

Is it me or the areas around the pours the same colour?

It does look like a burn, if it was in a shop it could have burned as most hide the heatmatts.
