my male crestie ( unknown age but i reckon around 1 year ish ) is losing weight rather than gaining...

he eats some CGD mixed with fruit about once every 2-3 days and thats it. Im never sure if he eats crickets.

is there another lvev food i could feed him tat would fatten him up?

There is lots of other food you can use,

You could try using minimeal worms in tubs (not loose as they are a pest and a danger to your creastie), Locusts (select a size which is about the same size as the cresties eye to the tip of its snout), then you have wax worms, butter worms, silk worms, it depends on how sevear the weight loss is as to whether your worth risking getting him hooked on fatty worms for the sake of a quick weight gain plan.

Also which baby food do you use? There are some flavours which are preferable to cresties and some which they will positively turn their noses up at, try to steer clear of anything citrus or 'bitter', try using banana or pear flavours.

Although vareity may not be the cause for your cresties weight loss you do have to consider parasites like worms, even the cleanest of crestie can pick these up through crickets etc. Most reptile shops will sell worming solutions for reptiles, or for certain your vet will have some... Hope this helps!

i know he is eating... but just not that much... i mean he is not losing a stupid amount of weight, about 2-3 grams in the last month or so.

i think hes not eating live foods and maybe this is why he is not gaining weight.

its hard to monitor how man crickets he is or isnt eating so i may try some very small meal worms in a tub and see if he eats them.

cheers for the replies.
