Lucky The Lizard - please read
I got my new beardie today, i havent named him yet but temperarily he is going to be named lucky!
ill start my story off, Beardiephil advertised his male BD for sale a few days ago, he was priced at £30 and as i have been trying to get an adult bd i snapped at the chance, his photo's didnt do him justice so i didnt think he wouldbe as handsome as he is, i rang Beardiephil telling him i will be coming thursday and will ring to comfirm i am coming on wednesday, Wednesday came and i was busy sorting the viv out, checking heat levels, buying rocks, slate, sand (soon to be lino), and cleaning out a water bowl and the viv, after finally getting everything up and running at 6pm it was ready to have a new housemate in, i rang beardiephil and told him i will be arriving in the morning between 9-12, night came and i stayed at my girlfriends because she was coming along for the ride, we got up at 6am and left at 7am, i filled up with petrol and we left for west sussex (161miles or so away), everything was going smoothly on the way there, traffick was so smooth on the M25 it was unbelivable, i didnt even have to stop for a fag break, we get to beardiephils and i go in............. that is when i fell in love with him, such nice colours and a nice prodominent red beard, he has a mixture of red/yellow/grey and possible lime in him and he is soo beutiful, we pack him away and i put him in the box in the boot of my car all seatbelted and ready to go, we leave at about 10.45am and we stop at a service station for a bite to eat and that well needed fag, we finished at about 11.20am and we left.............. everything is running smoothly again and i am about 5minutes from the dartford tunnel, traffic is very busy and typically stop/start, i am travelling at about 70mph in the fast lane, the traffick quickly comes to a stop and i had to apply an emergency break, the car stalled and was not restarting! this is when i started panicking, anyone who drives knows that if u are stuck in the fast lane of a motor-way a crash is innevitble because of the speed of people driving, i put on my hazards and immediately ring the police to tell them,whilst i am on the phone cars are screeching to a halt behind me and are getting nearer and nearer, this is where i am really sweating now, i saw a line of cars building up and thought "ah thats good at least theres more visibility now" im on the phone for approx 2mins when im being asked where am i, as i am replying i am looking in the rear view mirror and the line has now emptied so i am back to sqaure one, i know that if a car is going over the limit he will plow into me, as im on the phone a white car comes steaming for me, he screeches to a halt and has to vear to the right handside in order to miss me, he barely scratches my right back end, as i see this i look down at my sat nav to see where i am so i can tell the police................. all of a sudden we go flying forward even though the handbrake is on, the car which was behind me sandwiches between my right side and the middle guard of the motorway and as for the car which obviousley didnt stop its front end is missing and is pouring out fuel, in a split moment i thought, this could easily be a 15+ car pile up, in the process of the crash i have dropped my phone, totally forgetting i was on the phone i check on my girlfriend, she is fine and is just shacken and in tears, i look round and notice the man in the car at the right of me can not get out because he is sandwiched in between me, and the passengers in the car with no front end seem relatively fine and are out of the car, i rush to the man who is trapped and help him out (whilst the black car driver and passengers are just standing by their car), as i have helped him out i know see 2 cars which are facing each other right accros the motorway, they are ok so everyone is fine, i go back to my car to check on my girlfriend and notice my phone is open, i pick it up and the police are still on the phone, so i talk them thru everything. to end an already long post short, their were no fatalities and no serious injurys (what i could see) the reason i couldnt re-start the car was because apparently when u do an emergency break or cracs the fuel cut off switch turns on (or off) and u cant tart until it is reset, after everything the police, ambulance ppl and breakdown ppl say the car can drive slowly as long as it is slowly, they take my details and i am on my way, obviousley i was pannicky and very shaken but i finally made it home in the end and also stopped twice to check on my BD, When i get home i put him in his new tank and he is fine, a bit still but he is probably a bit shaken because of the crash and also him being in a new home, he was lucky because if the car which went to the right of me wasnt there then the car which crashed into us (more than likely doing over 100mph) would have totally caved the boot in which means lucky woudlnt be so lucky, So to end a very long post lucky is alive and well and is now eating after he has got warmed up and used to his viv, here are some pictures of the car (which doesnt look that bad for what happened) after and lucky and his set up, cheers for listening crashed car back home http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...m/Crash004.jpg Crashed car back home 2 http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...m/Crash001.jpg Lucky safely home http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...m/Crash012.jpg Lucky safely home 2 http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...m/Crash016.jpg

he looks happy and chilled and i think lucky suits him well,good luck with him after such a shaky start!!!! BTW my car looks like yours but its cos im crap at parking,hence most of the cars down my road also look like that

Glad to hear your everyone is ok. I bet you felt like crap afterwards once the adrenaline had gone.
Sounds like you had a lucky escape and glad you are your BD are fine now. Good luck with the car, hope the insurance company dont mess you about too much like they normally do.

Thanks for all your kind words, i dont know about the insurence company because they said to me on the phone that all though the 3rd car was speeding at a very fast speed they cant prove it down to not enough skid marks and also he said that if it went to court they could argue that when you are driving on the motorway you dont expect to see a stationary vehicle on the motorway, i argued that when i am driving i expect to see anything because you never know what can happen, i willl keep you all updated

Oooh mate! I would be absolutely terrified! All of you are very lucky! It could have been a lot worse!
At least your all safe and Lucky is adorable!
