Default Leo shedding!! Wow!

Just thought I would share my amazement with you!

Obviously I know that my leos regularly shed, but I'd never seen it until yesterday!!

Got home last night and as always, straight to Jeff and Ripley...noticed that all the kitchen roll was all ruffled up in the moist hide, so just took lid off to check all was okay, and Ripley had made a right mess of it! Took her out for a bit, and noticed how pale she was, so knew what she was about to do - moistened the hide a bit more, and then watched................!!!

It took 20 minutes, from beginning to end, and I've never seen anything like it before!!! She started by rubbing her head onto the kitchen roll, and it started to peel really easily round her nose, over the eyes, neck, everything coming off in one piece!! The best bit to watch were the legs and toes - it was like gloves coming off and she happily munched away on the shed, leaving no trace of skin!!! Her tail skin just slipped off so easily and she then had one more wipe all over her body on the kitchen towel and then realised she had an audience!! She then popped out of the hide, looked at me, paraded her new beautiful colours, and then went back in! Little poser!!!

So cool!!!!! Was so proud of her! I know it's a natural process and everything, but it really is amazing!!!

Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you! You've probably all seen it before, but it's all new to me!

i think when you're used to it, pics of geckos that dont eat their shed is even weider.
i dont keep any species that do this, but i know Oedura sp. do so.
