ok, my computer has started to play up now so im gonna restart but it doesnt look terrible from what i can see in that picture but the substrate looks loose which is a bad idea, would be a good idea to think about switching to paper towel or reptile carpet or other non loose substrate.

what are you measuring your temps with and where are you measuing them from?

A thermostat does not record temperatures. It just holds your heating equipment to the correct temperature... unless you've got one of those Lucky Reptile ones, which will not tell you the temperature right on the mat...

Ok:

1. Where is the thermostat probe located? It should have a probe which should be as close to the heating equipment as the gecko can get to it.

2. Where is the temperature you've given us coming from? Is it near the heat equipment or further away?

Your gecko could be impacted. It could be egg bound. It could have parasites.

And yes, the paper towels are just ordinary kitchen roll.

That water looks really, really... slimy.

What's in the gecko's mouth in that image? And does it have that much stuck shed on its feet and nose now?

ok, that wont take the temp, that is an air temp thermomiter, you will need a digital thermomiter with probe or an infrared one.
