Default climbing qecko

We removed a bark climb from viv that we inherited from someone else. It was really smelly, we havent bought a new one yet. Our gecko is going into one corner of the viv and trying to climb up but keeps slippin back down it seems to be getting into a state and looks frustrated am i being paranoid or is he just looking for a new climb? we are new to all of this.

Thanks for any advice
