Lightbulb what some monitors really eat!

a mate of my dads went to malaysia and took these pics, definitely not your normal thing to find, i believe it is a water monitor? and it is eating an 8 foot anaconda.

Firstly that's a reticulated python and it definately doesn't look 8ft!

Though it's hard to guage from a pic I guess so it may be. How big was the monitor?

I was going to say... Lol.
Either the monitor is a giant! or the snake definately isn't 8 ft

Water monitors can get to around 9ft

Though that'd have to be a giant rock it's on if it is!!!!!!

That def aint a 8 foot anaconda

1st off its a retic and that retic looks quite big to me but i may be rong!!

That aside they're some great pics. Monitors will eat carrion, so it may've found it dead or it may've done the killing itself, if the retic WAS 8ft though I don't see the monitor taking it but you never know, an 8ft retic doen't have that much girth to it.

To be fair we can only see part of the snake

Great picture! I would think the retic was dead before the monitor started on it, but you never know. Shame the snake died but nice to see a monitor that size living healthily in the wild and something I'd love to see in person one day
