males and females can be told aprt from colouration and head shape this is not always 100% accurate but it's nearly immopssible to tell from the vents unles u try popping or probing. females are duller in colour to the males alo the male has a stockier head. but like most species 2 males would fight each other so that would be an indicator but not one i would want to risk.

it's a move done to get the reptile to pop out it's hemipenes if male but i wouldn't reccomend anyone to do this without experience, i'm not very good an descrbing stuff lol
