i agree with dean, leo's are nocturnal so you are restricted ( or at least thats my opinion) with your interaction with it. Beardies eat alot when young but slow alot when they get older, some feed just one adult on 1 tub of crix every 3 days, so thats not much but when younger they batter the food. if its more a concern of them bein bugs they eat and not the amount you could get a uromastyx as they are purely veggie eaters (i think?)and can be quite handlable

Uro;s are awesome, plus even though they are diurnal they still aint too demanding on attention and hide a fair bit.
and yeh eat veg and seeds only so thats cool.

Not a cheap start up set up though if thats atall relevant.

ah well that doesnt help much then, if snakes ar ein the same group.. then you could easily seperate geckos from lizards as you would snakes?

so that would mean they were different and not necesarily lizards?
ill grab soem links but i just saw a few sites the othe rday randomly that were listing the basics, starting with groups and saying the 5, i was asking though as im not big on knowledge of that sort of thing but ill try and find them and also look to see ones which explain it as 4 not 5.

Within the order squamata are two sub-orders, these are serpentes (snakes) and sauria (lizards) within these sub-orders are families e.g viperids, elapids, agamids, gekkonids...
Does this help?
Ben

Squamata - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
that one sugests that a gecko is just as different from a monitor as it is a snake.

as do many others but thats when focusing on the group Squamata and grouping them that way.

googled reptile orders intead and
Reptile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
says the 4 orders liek you guys said.

but then
http://www.animalplanet.co.uk/reptil...ds/index.shtml
sort of thing sugests they are the same group[order] as snakes [squamata] too but that group contains snakes, lizards and in lizards geckos are contained along with the other families.

So i can see that you can easily either list geckos under lizards, or seperately if your listing what squamatas you have in stock for instance..

its not that i didnt have my thoughts on it organised, its simply that depending on what you are using to class them you can group them together or not.

still ahve sites saying theres 5 groups of reptile though.

I would have alwasy considered a gecko a lizard.
