Question Lizards make good pets?

I have two corns and unless its close to feeding time, they don't come out of their hides much.

Are Lizards the same? I have been thinking about getting one for a while (somthing that doesn't eat too many 'bugs') but just wanted to know how active they are?

Thanks.

Lizards are alot more active-always running around/head bobbing etc. Beardies and other agamids will do this more than gekkonids but geckoes tend to be more attractive...Persoanlly prefer snakes myself anyway though...
Hope this helps!

I think beardies are really cute too, but i am leaning towards a gecko as there smaller and don't eat as much.

But i will be doing alot of research and maybe, getting one around xmas time.

Cresties and other New Caledonian geckos, day geckos and mourning geckos can all be fed a meal replacement powder to cut down or eliminate having to feed insects. Personally I prefer geckos to lizards so I'm biased anyway but good luck with whatever you chose to do

there are many othe roptions mind.

A leo or other gecko wont be a smuch of a change from the snakes as something like a beardie, or other active diurnal lizard will be obviously.

A leo prolly is a good idea but im sure whatever you choose yourl get on great with.

I often see on sites
"snakes" lizards" "geckos"
arent geckos still liizards though? i know they are a big group and they are quite set apart fromt he rest but are they still Lizards for all intent and purposes?
with the five reptile groupls being snakes, lizards, shelled, crocidialians, and tuatura?

The families within the class are-
  1. Squamata (snakes and lizards-including geckoes)
  2. Crocodilia (Crocodiles, alligators etc.)
  3. Chelonia (Tortoises, turtles etc.)
  4. Tuatara

For all intents and purposes, yup And there are four reptile orders, snakes and lizards belong in the same group (Squamata)
