what thins blood a little?
anti hespamine?

also... thining to a small amount whereas it would help if it is the case... does anyone know of any possible negative effects from doing so?
besides the obvious bleeding excessively and non clotting if injurd/cut.

i have not herd of this myself..I wouldn't recommend the baths really as if she has a fit in the bath then there is a chance of her drowning. I understand what the others are saying about animals biting an chewing bits of their own body when they are in pain as a lot of them do.Dogs bite their paws if they have aching joints and parrots pull out feathers too.But i think if she is indeed fitting then she isn't aware that shes biting her own tail. When animals or humans fit their brain gos into a sub conscious state where they are aware of there actions but have not always got control over them hence the biting of her own tail.I know it sound cruel but when she gos into these fits you should leave her well alone as you could do more damage then good.I would section her off from the others straight away as like mentioned it could cause fights etc but also for her and the others safety.

I would take her the vets or at the very least phone them as they will usually give advice over the phone about what to do in the mean time. She might have a medical problem that has caused her to do this.often in the incubation stages of breeding reptile it is extreamly crucial to make sure of minimum temperature fluctuations to prevent problems such as abnormality with appearance or health problems such as this.Even the most experienced keeper can have hatchings that turn out like this where as they might be the only one in a batch of 50 thats had a problem.

i would just phone the vet at the least and ask their advice on the subject.

Thing is though, this is the big thats really upsetting, knowing that there is no way I can get to a vet till friday at the earliest, if I could sooner then I would, but yes, a call could help!

Plus, on the other side, its knowing whats causing it, it could be impaction, clot, irritation, etc etc, and the list goes on! So I personally cant treat something that I dont knwo what it is! It could be that she may even have a disability thats just shown up thats causing her minor strokes or spasms!

I have also been thinking that if it was some sort of disability that she will be living with for the rest of her life, then I will give her away free to a home with someone who has the time and knowledge to care for her better than I can, but hopefully its just something that I can get treated as she is a gorgeous little girl, with lovely markings, and great peronality.

I just never understand the limb movement loss, and the rolling, its like the "Death Roll" crocs do! Thats the easiest way to describe it, and also a leo biting people during it cant be a good sign!

Also, since I wrote this before that last reply, I have segregrated her from the others as I dont want her to get stressed, or to get hurt or hurt the others as she has 2 sisters in there with her, 1 from the same clutch, 1 from the earlier clutch. And them 2 are both fit and healthy! The 1 I call "miss attitude" is her sister who is the same age, and healthy with a great attitude and strut lol! The other is her older sister who is also fit and healthy

like i said..bath if ur up for it and massage to help incase its impaction.. i wouldnt have thought it would drown if your there..fitting or not fittting.

if it fits as soon as u put it in..it will show its stress related...

if there wasa way of thinning th eblood a little, something fairly natural that would simply help if it was that [clotting] but do know harm if it isnt then its a valid option.

In all honesty i have never to date heard of any lizard that has been at "fitting stage" and got better, sad but true in my experience on this forum and offline.

Also the biting you when fitting should not mean much really..its of no baring in my opinion, the last thing to be concerned about, if she is fitting she prolly doesnt know where she is, who you are etc at that time.

defiantely sounds like some type of seizure, any animal can 'fit' for a number of different reasons, head trauma, swelling on the brain, blood posioning,
they sound pretty dramatic tho, it could be as Dean has said stress related very much like us having a panic attack type thing, even lack of calcium can trigger some types of fits, but as youve said shes all vit n calciumed up,
it could be a birth defect that is becoming apparent as she grows even,
theres loads of things we can all speculate as to what it is,and the best route is to the vets for blood tests to find out whats what
since you cant get there til friday theres not much you can do,keep her quiet, dont over stress her, remove anything in her viv she might injure herslef on,branches if she fits while climbing, shallow water for the time being etc,
common sense things really,
hopefully the vet can give you some quick answers and its something she will grow out of
good luck with her x

Im going to call a vet in a bit and see if I can get some help or info to help tide me over till i can get an appointment

but anyway, thanks again for all replies, and any future replies

Update

Just found a rep vet that can fit her in tonight as his place is open till 7!!

So im all happier now!

Will let you know how it goes, he believes that she has not injested enough of the calcium, not sure how though as she is a healthy eater, maybe she goes after the ones with less calcium as she does not like the taste, not sure, but he said if thats the problem then I should try a uv tube to help so it wont cause her anymore problems in the future as he has known animals like this not to eat properly due to not liking that type of calcium suppliment

hey dude..get him to explain it to you very well though ok.

as... a lack of calcium would mean less of it to convert to d3 needed...
a uv tube [uvb rays] allows reptiles to transform calcium into d3...

so right away theres a flaw in that logic so make sure he [or she] really explains it ok.
