never thought things like leopards and beardies ate meat was all! sorry for not putting a warning for all you squeamish folk but thought the words "destroying a mouse" was pretty clear. didn't think about it sorry

I managed to get one of my new leos (whos very much underweight) to eat a pinky, god first time i seen a leo eat one and i ws shocked at just how savage they can be, broke my deliousy of cute lovly little things lol

i only use frozen pre killed (defrosted first of corse)

i thought that the new AWA made it more or less illegal to feed live? there was a massive descussion on it in the snakes scetion ages ago, and in theory altho there is now actual law stating you cannot live feed, the AWA makes it so you could get done for other things instead (as usual they take the indirect sneeky way)

TBH in leos there is no need to live feed pinkies, if they wont take it dead then dont matter, its not their main sause of food, only a rare treat and theres loads of other options for getting weight on them and more calcium.

Yeah I don't think the video is very appropriate.

There's some evil stuff on YouTube including someone so cruel as to chuck a little mouse in beside paranas and leave it swimming there helplessly while loads of paranas rip it limb from limb. That's totally cruel.

It scard me I must say.

Live-feeding is still somewhat of a grey area, yet to be tested in court. In theory as long as the prey item is kept correctly (basically as you would keep a pet of the same species) and the actual feeding is done in the privacy of your own home, there shouldn't be anything you can be touched for. This is only the way I understand it, other people WILL have different views. But you are totally right there is no need to live feed pinks to lizards.

i feel that i am quite de-sensitised to this sort of stuff but this video even made me feel a bit ill! some what out of order and there are also videos of live feedings of giant centipedes which are bad as well! every one seems to live feed in America but I'm glad to see less and less are doing it over here!

It is quite disturbing isn't it.

Makes you feel really horrible and you wonder how some people could do that sort of thing but then there are some weirdo's out there!!

Anyway I would feed my leo's pinkies but only if they were already dead/ frozen. Just my preference but everyone's different.

One leopard gecko book i have says you can feed them live, and that they would eat them thawed, may be an american publication. From the pictures they look like quite a mouthful. WHat size would they need to be to take one that size?
