Default Feeding Leo's Pinkies??

Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone has fed their leopard gecko's pinkies (day old mice) and what people thought about it really and if it is ok to do it??

Let me know what you think.

its ok to do it as long as you do it very sparingly i mean like 3 every year or something like that. you can feed them when a female is laying as she needs the extra fat and calcium.

I give my females who are laying pinkies whenever they'll take them.

Yeah, I've read in a few books that you should feed females pinkies when they are pregnant but I wasn't sure if anyone had actually done it and just wanted to see what people though =)

Thanks for the help.

Sorry for diverting the thread but...

Are these live or thawed out? Is it legal in the Uk to do that? Do Leopards eat them thawed.

I feed my leopard geckos either frozen/thawed or fresh killed.

It is not illegal to feed live vertebrates but it is strongly frowned upon unless a vet has certified the animal will die otherwise. I cannot imagine a situation where it would EVER be necessary to feed a leopard gecko a live vertebrate animal.

Ok, I think it is illegal to feed invertabrate live vertabrate prey, Tarantulas and pinkie mice for example. But you can feed them dead but it is very frowned upon and is messy. I think it is legal in the US. Anyone correct me if i am speaking nonsense - long time since I read up on it.
