Default Bearded Dragon Mites (pic heavy)

Yuck! Found out today that my new beardies are infested with mites, so my nice quiet Saturday has been spent disinfecting, spraying and scrubbing! Fun!

Anyhow, i thought that a fair few people on here have asked what mites look like, and how do know that they`ve got them etc, so i thought i may as well put my new camera to good use

I feel itchy just looking at them. Most had gathered in the eyelid crevices.

One going for a walk.

Is your skin crawling yet???

They like dark warm tight spaces. The creases around the eyes are ideal homes for mites.

New?

Who did you get them off?

Can't believe anyone would send animals out with obviously visual signs of mites.

Yuck!! When mine caught them after they spent a 2 week holiday at our local reptile store I itched every time I just thought of them!!

Another hiding place for the things are in the gumline too I found - so check there too.
