I think that the main problems would be down to the "hot" females behaving like males - most people who want females from me want them as there is more chance of them being able to live in a pair when they are adults, so the "hot" females, from that point of view, aren't classed as "females" at all.

With a species such as leos, where the breeder can "incubate for", a lot are incubated for female, but I wouldn't say that it's the case that there are "too many" females about?
