Default Beardie/gecko

Hello

Just a quick question as im new to the whole reptile thing...

Can i keep a bearded dragons and a leopard geckos in the same vivarium with each other?
If not what can i either keep with beardies or what can i keep with leopard geckos?

Or can i just not have 2 different types of lizard living with each other?

Many Thanks
Phil

It's best, especially for new hobbyists, to not mix species. Even some of the most experienced are dead set against it. Leopard geckos and Bearded Dragons have different requirements and wouldn't be suited to living together. Do you own either or is this hypothetical?

Some people who have years of experience do keep certain species together but that is after tonnes of research and experience. I personally don't think it should be done but that's my opinion lol.

Are there any species that can be mixed as my brother in laws best mate breeds reptiles and has given him a selection to do what he will with them?

species that are from the same area of the world. But before introducing any animal it'd have to be quarantined for at least 6 months.

Ok thanks so as long as they need the same living conditions, food etc... then they should be ok...?
No aggression towards eachother?

Thanks
Phil

2 Males even of different species may very well fight just like 2 males of the same species...

saying that so may females...or male and female..

all enviromental needs being similar... its still not a great idea as theres the possibility that natural germs carried by and harless to that species [and uncurable as they are natural to that species] can be deadly to another.

There is not enough documented research in the area...simply because those that are in the position to really do so..simply believe it to be a pointless risk.

The larger the vivarium..the better the chances of success...

exceptions always apply.

have a read of the mixing species thread at the top of this forum for soem more views.
