Default Flexarium?

Right I've been thinking of getting a chameleon for a while now [not sure which one yet..]

Still researching..

But I know that they need LOADS of ventilation & good air flow, but how good are flexariums? Surely they wouldn't hold heat & humidity very well!?

Am I better off with just a wooden viv & maybe cutting a massive hole in each side & replacing that with mesh?

Or are flexariums ok?

Also, if anyone has pictures of the cham enclosures I'd be really grateful if you could post them up

Thanks alot..Matt

In no expert but I do keep yemens and panthers. I keep the yemens in the flexariums and the panthers (currently sub adults) in the largest exo terra terrariums.

Flexariums seem to prioritise ventilation over everything else so they need to be kept in a warm room to provide background heat and the basking bulb just provides a small area several degrees warmer for basking. Humidity can be boosted by using live plants and regular spraying and the use of a dripper but in my experience yemens don't seem to require much of a boost in humidity anyway (Note that humidity and available drinking water via dripping and misting aren't the same thing). I use the terrariums for my panthers as this species appears to do better with higher humidity so the glass helps to boost that whilst still having a mesh top for ventilation.

If you opt for a yemen I would go for a flex, if you opt for a panther I would go for something a bit less open.

Thanks alot, you've both been a great help.

Tbh, my room isn't that warm, so maybe [if I opt for a flex] getting a heat strip to go at the back behind the flex would be a good idea?
