do you need a certain type ov stat for a heat mat cus my local pet shops got lots ov different types and as a newbie i dont no wats wat plus thers all different types of watts ( as in electricity ) cheers

I've done some research into this, and I've got a stat already.

It looks like any heatmat just plugs into the stat.

I have a MicroClimate MiniStat 100, this means it will hold any heatmat up to 100W. And even a huge 47" by 12" heatmat is only 63W, so that stat would do you fine unless you're planning on getting a house size mat

my mat is 2ft x 1ft a habistat we in same boat we both getting it all set up gradually but i dont wanna just rush plus i got other mouths to feed aswell

590mm x 280mm, 23" x 11" (28 watts)

Go for a microclimate not thats there is much of a difference apart from price, i am an avid buyer of microclimate and for mat stats they are good price.

also look at camzoo they do good priced equipment
