I think you're right, if he still isnt eating by next week, i'll have to take him down the vet.
most of the day he's quite active, but then towards evening he just lays in corner and almost falls asleep before lights are off??
really quite worried. dont know what else i can do though!
thanks
Well since you have doubled checked the temps the only other things i can think of would be the UV and the calci sand (which i know you have taken them of now). Im sure you already know but they have to be able to get within 6inches of their UV so they can absorb the calcium from it etc... And the calci sand, he could? be impacted from it and thats why hes not eating, he also could be impacted from the dried sand you said you have him on now. But this is just a guess because i know and have seen what sand can do to them.
Im not saying that he is (or that your doing anything wrong), im just trying to shed some light on this.
Make sure you keep him well hydrated by giving him a couple of baths a day since he isnt getting his usual water in take from his veg.
Keep up what your doing now and offering fruit and veg, and keep trying him with the crickets.
But if he still isnt eating anything by monday then i would def take him to a herp vet, as there is somethings like parisites that have to be given proper antibiotics for.

Good luck with both of them, and keep us posted on how their doing and if anything changes!

Hi, thanks for advice.
im giving them a good old soak twice a day, not spraying in tank cos gets too humid and might clump the sand up, the UV light is in an ok position which is close enough for them.
the smaller 1 had 4 small locusts yesterday which was a start, but big 1 didnt have anything?? and still no poo! i think a trip to the vet might be best for both to be fair. i think there is 1 close to me.
thanks again for your help, i'll let you know how i get on this next week.

Well good to hear that the smaller one is eating some locusts, least hes not avoiding all food so that can rule out most viral infections. Though for the big one im not sure because i dont know everything about them, like calcium dusting and vitamin dusting and so on... I know your doing everything right but sometimes they just go of there food (mostly to annoy us!) But yeah like you said i trip to the vets would be the best thing for them! And make sure its a good herp vet obviously, cuz every single vet near me knows nothing about lizards and 3 of the vets said "oh so water dragons we have here then" when i brought my beardies in lol!....
But yeah your doing all you can now so keep us posted on how things are going with your two, and again good luck with them!!

Oh and if you hear anything on good herp vets in nothern ireland please let me know as i would like to have one for back up!

i dust with calci supp 2-3 times week, im hoping its just a phase. they'll be ok.
i think there is quite good vet that specialises in reptiles. if he says they're water dragons i think i'll just walk out?
on that topic, what is the best way to transport a Beardie??
