Hi

well i am relitivly new to the hobby and was woundering if i should try a different lizzard or not

i am ristricted in space so cant really have anything too big

what is a great first lizard to be handled and will be active most of the time

i know the bearded dragon is a good handling lizard but they get to quite a size and not too sure if i can have a 4ft viv in the front room

i curently have a fire skink that looks like he wants to eat my fingers if i get to close to him/her and would like a lizard that likes to be handled or tolerates it at least

Leopard Gecko!

Great personalities, Only need roughly 2 x 2 feet Vivarium so not much room, and are usually really easy to handle + care for.

Not demanding at all.

As long as you don't mind feeding crickets.

They only need a 2(breadth) x 2(length) x 1(height) foot tank.
Note: This is a minimum for one adult. Larger would be needed for multiple adults.

They're usually less than £50. It really depends on the colour morph and where you get them from.

Depends how many your planning on having.

A 4x2x2 would be sufficient when adult !!

Beardies grow fairly quickly.
When they are babies they are pretty greedy, needing 2 cricket meals a day and a veg meal.
So thats probably why.
They can grow up to 20" and German giants grow to 24"

What about a rankins which is a minature version of a beardie or a vitikins which is a cross btween a beardie and a rankins think both are sub species of the beardie and are kept in pretty much the same way although a smaller viv

Heres a link discussing vitikins

Vittikins.
