Question Snake Skin

I think I am about to get my first shed of skin! She's gone all dull and her eyes are looking very grey. Can anyone tell me what I should do? I have read that some of you even give your snakes a bath! Is this normal and what is the reason. Please help!! Jay

I agree, raise the humidity slightly not so much that its dripping wet and something the snake can rub on may benefit, bit of wood, slate etc.
Other than that be patient and dont offer food.

I agree, a spray of water, something to rub against and some peace and quiet. I give a spray of tepid water once she has started to shed - she seems to appreciate it - and her shed comes off in one piece.

I've never had to spray or add a wet box or raise the humidity for any of mine. Like Habu says nature should know what to do

When i used to have a snake i would sometimes spray it with water that had been left at room temperature and it would scrape itself on something rough like the bark in its vivarium, i only usually did this when i thought that it was struggling a little bit

depends on the snake really but moist hides work well for all;

take a tub (say cricket box or sandwich box) and put a hole in it. Fill it with spagnum moss (can buy this from garden centre, boil it to get rid of nasties) let it cool and fill the box with it.

The humidity of the moistness from the moss will help the skin come off and snakes will enjoy rubbing against it to get their skin off!
