Mexican kings are great snakes ,friendly & not fussy feeders at all & compared to corns & milks get a bit more gurthier.

Thankyou everyone for all the help and advice and the pictures of your snakes are all lovely.

But i have to say...i've been persuaded with the Pueblan....haha...you win! Will try to make an attempt at buying the viv and bits and bats for it over the next few weeks.

I agree though Black Mexican Kingsnakes are a very good choice for a beginner, my ex recently lost his for a few weeks and found it again weakened of course....but with being only a baby she's a pretty good survivor, very tame too.

Thankyous again

Go with the snake that your heart desires (within reason of course!!) because you may only regret it later on. I absolutely love my pueblan to bits at the moment, i don't think you'll regret it. I would recommend only starting with one snake as there is a learning curve and until you get confident, two snakes may be a bit much. Bear in mind that you will need two thermostats and two vivs (or rubs depending on size!) and also heat mats or bulbs (the costs do add up!).

Remember it is a rewarding hobby and seriously addictive, i considered a snake for months before buying one and reading on this forum is a seriously good way to get GOOD advice, that not even the reptile store will tell you.

Everyone has their own favourite snake, remember that pueblans will tend to musk quite a lot when young (which stinks but is not harmful !), but in my view there are fewer nicer coloured snakes (apart from some of the honduran milk snakes).

If you really want a milk snake, get it, because you'll only end up buying one after getting a Corn as well !!!!
