Hello i have a different question now.
I have noticed there is a plastic base for the lid underneath my tank lid. I was thinking of getting some mesh and sticking it on to save buying a new lid. What mesh would you recommend using for a snake, and what adhesive/tape to use?
I could provide you with photos if i havent described it clear, it is hard to explain.

very fine mesh to prevent escapes, but definetly don't use tape to stick it down with....

1. tape probably won't be strong enough and your snake will push the lid enough to get out
2. tape is EVIL! if it grts stuck to your snake it is a real bugger to get off, can cause injury eg pulling scales off, getting stuck to the eyes, over the mouth etc. and will definetly cause stress to the snake (this is from experience - i learnt the hard way )

as mentioned above, no tape mate as it will rip off and damage the snakes scales if caught.
