Sorry Mate, My Bad. They Do Need Light. And Apparently Humidity. But I Imagine if you spray them, that would be sufficient. The good thing about these then is that they do not have roots, You can attach them to your fake background and they'd grow happily. Heres a website with information on them, Sorry for giving you false information in the preivous post.
BBC - h2g2 - Air Plants
Maybe you should stick with the Money Plants after all! Haha.
EDIT: Again, Just Reading through that It says "Indirect" Lighting. So These May Be Good For Your Enviroment.
"Air plants don't mind basking in the sun, but they prefer to keep out of strong direct sunlight. Where you raise your plant will vary depending on your location and environment. Air plants being raised in lower latitudes should be kept out of the strong direct light of early afternoon; sun filtered through porch screens and lightly fogged windows suits them just fine. Those raised further from the equator won't mind the weaker sunlight. If the sun is particularly weak, consider using a fluorescent plant light. Desert plants prefer their light somewhat stronger than jungle plants, so it pays to find out where your plant hails from.Plants that get too much light will develop brown patches of sunburn. Plants that get too little light will lose their colour and start looking straggly"
