There's no problems with that at all, I just try and be quick and confident when trying to find my snakes under the Aspen. If a plastic tub (visibly see-through) just look from undernieth. Otherwise, I just do it as fast as possible, to reduce stress and possibly a territorial bite.

i would not worry about your corn hiding under the aspen during the day, she will be comoing out during the night or quiet times during the day mine does this, her aspen is full off "snake tunnels" and when you go in for her or him dont hesitate dont grab just go in confident and pick up away from the head

Ok thanks both.
I did get up during the night once when I needed the loo & found him happily out in the open, also there is plenty of snake trails in the aspen in a morning, but during the day nothing, reckon friends & family reckon I just brought an empty viv![]() |

hi, well, im new to this site and a new cham owner but have had corns for a very long time, mine r well over 5ft now,i still rarely see them move during the day and when they do i know they are hungry
otherwise they only active at night time..i also wouldnt worry about the possible bite you may get as even at 5ft it really doesnt hurt more than a bad pin prick, their like kids, you need to be firm and fair lol never let them think you are scared of them, after all, id rather be bitten ten times by one of my boys than my staffy ![]() good luck to all of you just starting the corn snake ownership, mine r beautiful but unfortunetely im having to rehome all but one due to lack of time and space.. |
