Default The way dogs are brought up!

The number of times i have heared on the news about dogs attacking people and childern.
Who think it's the way thees dogs or any dogs i.e pit bulls, Rottwilers, Bull terriers, Mastiffs and German shepherd dogs are brought up!
In my meany 14 years of beeing on this earth i have came across meany breeds nice temperd, nasty, shy, protective... i have saw the difrent ways people treat dogs i.e they are dogs puh them they live in kennles in the garden and they get feed and watered and walked and some times played with and aww they are my babies and dress them up and lets them sleep in their beds.. you get the ideal i just wondering what all your thoughts are weather they are your babies or and just dogs
The way people rase their companions from puppies or if they have rescued them how they treat their dog if you smake them with news papers smake their bumps or just aww he pooed on my best cloths oh well or any way you what are your opinions on this topic

Thanks alot for reading this

Josh

I would NEVER recomend hitting a dog thats not training, its teaching a dog to be scared of you, and how do dogs react when they're scared? well with Agreshion of course

I have two dogs, everyone who meets them say they're nice natured, friendly , cute etc etc

It has everything to do with how a dogs brought up, the same as kids!

You get out what you put in i'm affraid

I love my dog to bits and he is my baby but he's still a dog, to treat him as anything else would be confusing and unfair for him. All dogs consider themselves members of you pack and as such you need to be the "top dog" this doesn't involve hitting them but simply letting them know you're the boss and what you say goes, the dog is then happy being a dog and happy to follow your lead which is safer all round.

It really pisses me off everytime there is an outcry about dangerous dogs - it's not the dogs that are dangerous it's the bloody owners.

my dogs get treated like dogs. (west highland white terriers)

they have excellent temperment, very welled trained (apart from joe needing to pee up every new object that enters the house!) walked every few days but there not allowed on the furniture or upstairs.they do get treats, toys and a nice clean comfy bed, plus bathed trimmed and groomed every few weeks. but i dont treat them like babies.

i think dogs should be shown whos boss. if they get 100% fuss whatever they do, whos to say that they wont attack the next person who walks in the house cos there entering There territory which they find a threat? when my dogs have done wrong, they get told off, tapped on the nose and put outside for 10mins. unless its raining i which case they totally refuse to go out! lol

dogs need to know there limits or theyl just take advantage!

I definately agree its the way dogs are brought up

My 12/13 wk old puppy has a new best mate that we see at the park she is a 1 1/2 year old rotti and she is soft as and as daft as a brush too! I have to say im not in the slightest bit nervous at all her playing with my pup as she is fantastic with her..............and she adores people and fuss with lots of attention too

Having bred GSD's down to pomeranian's in my 40 plus yrs on this planet, growing up with working springers and show shelties then doing my own breeds I have to say its all down to the way you treat and raise the dog.

Even a nasty dog can be turned around once you show them YOU are the boss and will handle any problems that come either their way or yours. Fear aggression is the most dangerous when its aimed towards people, its very difficult to cure and usually caused by inappropriate treatment of an animal.

i have a staffordshire bull terrier, some peoples reactions of these dogs amazes me, some people move away from him or say he should be mussled hes dangerous, far from the truth, hes dopey as hell.

i think its the owners fault not the dogs, if i was brought up horribley & left outside in the rain & smacked for nothing i think id be an angry person.

i know its bad about these kids being killed but the dog cant speak & little kids especailly will tease dogs or pull at them,.....id b a bit pissed if it was me but then again the owners shudnt let that child or dog b at risk.

these r my views maybe wrong but 99% of the time i blame the owners.
ive known nasty yorkshire terriers & other small breeds.

i agree i have also met more nasty small dogs than bigegr dogs small dogs tend to be more snappy beacuse they get cuddled and spoielts and not treated as a member of the pack so they dont no what hapening and wer their place is.
