Default What dog to get?

I am looking to get a puppy but am not sure what I want.
The 2 choices I am down to are a boxer or a husky.
I have heard however that huskies dont get on with cats and I was wondering does anybody have either of these dogs and what are they like in a family environment with cats?

Boxers!!

I have 3 boys at the moment, Nico ( 6y-white), DelBoy (5.5y-Redbrindle) and Alfie (1y-white).
Always had them, so kind of in favour of them no matter what..lol

Also involved with rescue, so why not consider giving a loving home to a boxer in need, Boxer Dog Rescue Northern England |

I got a 12y boxer from rescue (Bentley RIP) and he loooooved cats so much he used to kiss them all the time. The ones I have now are fine with them as long as they don't run (as they don't live with one). A puppy or young dog will learn that the Cat is in charge!

Boxers never grow up, so you will have the most loving and cuddly friend for life - Great with kids as well!

I have 3 siberian huskies and a huskamute

when my older ones were pups they were great with cats but now they are older I wouldnt even consider trusting them in the same room as a cat

yes i do have a cat and lost one to old age recently too and adopting another soon BUT!!!!! my cats live upstairs where the huskies cant get them and on a night they sleep in with my son do the cats

I really wouldnt recommend huskies and cats unless you can keep them seperate as a husky has a very high prey instinct they may get along for years but then one day they husky just turn round and kill the cat for no reason

I know of other husky owners that their huskies have killed cats 1 person i know his husky has killed 6 cats to date

as a family pet huskies are fantastic though i do recommend that you research them througherly as they are not a dog for the faint hearted they are extremely hardwork and demanding they will destroy for the sake of destroying and get bored very easily

sooooo please research before you buy

Whatever puppy you get it will be brought up with the pets you have so don;t worry about getting on with the cat etc.

HUSKY - without a doubt, they are alot calmer once mature, boxers tend to always be crazy.

Huskies are beautiful too

I grew up with a husky x malamute x wolf (when I lived in the US) who adored the cats... He'd hold them down to groom them and my cat (who still lives with my Mother in the US) used him as a bed. He'd be laying there, minding his own business (usually inspecting the inside of his eyelids), when Cleo would climb on top of him, start softening him up, and curl up in a ball right in the middle of him.
