Default cockatiel shaking.

Ok.. Basically, nans reluctant for the vet visit. I have no idea why. But am worried about the bird.

I don't have any knowledge on birds so wouldn't know whats wrong. Am hoping someone on here could give me advice on what might be wrong.

Basically. My nan got 2 cockatiels a few years ago from a friend breeder in France. These birds have been fine and eating in the few years that she's had them. Any way, they seemed fine friday evening when i went and cleaned them out (i had been looking after them for the week or so she was in France) And one has gotten very very skinny, shaking constantly. And is being very aggressive towards anyone who goes near it, they are usually very skittish but have never made anyone bleed when biting. Which this one has done so over the past few days. It seems VERY skinny. And just overall doesnt seem fine.

The fact that it's lost weight and is constantly shaking is worrying me.
She says she has seen it eat though.

Any suggestions?

i'm afraid I would have to reccommend a visit to the vet. Chronic weight loss could be due to any number of reasons, such as a respiratory infection/parasites. Are the birds kept indoors? In the meantime make sure the bird is warm and perhaps seperate it from the other just in case it has something the other can catch?

They are warm in my nans house. Always kept indoors, havent had any contact with any other bird since they hatched (a few years ago)

Although, while they were away the temperature might have dropped?

the bird needs a vet. because birds are prey to a lot of animals, they hide illness for as long as possible so if a bird is showing signs of illness then it really is poorly.

Thats what i was trying to explain to my nan. Will convince her, even if it's me who takes it!
I told her i was worried for the bird, my nans not trying to be mean i don't think, she keeps telling me it's looking alot better than when she got home. Over the past couple days it's been eating etc. and she says it's showing more life
