Default New kitten help

Hiya,

I am not new to keeping cats but had a query regarding my two current cats and a potential new kitten. My two current ones are fully vaccinated, wormed, no fleas etc and both neutered... we saw a cute wee moggie kitten that we would like to buy but it is not yet vaccinated. Is this risky to bring it into our home, for either the kitten or the other cats? Are they likely to catch something from each other or not? She said they have been wormed so that shouldnt be an issue..

Any help would be great

Thanks

Anna

I could be way wrong here but as far as i know you should be fine as long as you don't let the baby out until it's had it's jabs? I'm sure when I got my kitten the vet told me this - I had an older cat already....

pretty sure its no risk - when my cat had kittens none of them caught anything from her until they were vaccinated and were obviously alot younger -
but your cats may bully him/her for a couple of weeks - just show them as much attention as poss

Dont worry the new kitty will be fine. Make sure first vaccs are done ASAP(earliest time is 9 weeks old for first one then 12 weeks old for 2nd one) Perhaps deflea before bringing into the house to make sure no unwanted visitors. Dont forget Photos of your new arrival when you get the kitten
