Default Giant gambian pouched rats????

Do these make good pets as I think they are absolutely adorable and funky creatures!!!

I keep 'normal' rats and other rodents but wanted to hear other peoples thoughts on keeping them as pets??

Also how much do they normally cost???

thanks
debi

hey there. gambian pouched rats are great pets! i have one and hes called frodo and he wasn't handled as a baby which makes him quite affraid of people, he was also mis-treated which makes it worse but its a lot of work if they haven't been handled.I would suggest that if you are looking into getting one make sure they are handled as a baby.
from what i can see they have there individual personalities. they are just great.

Price wise you are looking at around 150-200 quid each.
Best age to get them at is around 6-8 weeks of age and with plenty of interaction they make excellent pets.
